Do Not Argue Politics If

You’ve never voted.

Ever get into a political debate with someone only to hear this:

I’ve never voted. Or, I don’t vote because ____________.

I don’t care what reasons you have and we’ve heard them all, you have no right to complain if you don’t get off your lazy butt and vote. Write someone in if you don’t like the choices. Just stop whining about it if you can’t take 30 minutes out of your life and cast your vote.

Rant over.

Here’s a great place to go to register to vote, click here:

I just unsubscribed from your RSS. Although you sometimes have good articles, take your own advice and stick to your brand! This is not a political site, I come here for branding and marketing info, and to be honest, I’m not interested in reading your political opinions.

Well, thanks for reading. But in all fairness I’ve posted 354 stories since June 2007 and less than 10 of those were on politics. I don’t plan the writing it’s very spontaneous and we’re 50 days away from electing a new Prez. Hence the political stories.

George Carlin used to say that if you don’t vote, you have all the right to complain because you haven’t contributed to the mess.
I am a young professional with a college education and I don’t vote. Maybe I am too cynical, but I feel like all politicians are the same. They are all corrupt, why else would someone spend millions of dollars to become president only to get paid $400K a year? And don’t point to the issues and making a difference. Politicians use issues as part of the game. A certain stance on a certain issue = a certain number of votes, they calculate and make judgements on where to stand.
In addition to all of this, the country doesn’t want people to vote. Ever ask yourself why elections are on Tuesday, but its not a national holiday??
I don’t know Big Kahuna, it doesn’t make much sense that voting is connected to knowing and talking about politics. Lots of people will be voting this year and many of them know nothing about politics. Instead they see race, gender and age (that is 100% what this election is about). The majority of people put less thought in to their presidential pick than they do when voting for American Idol.

  4. BIG Kahuna Says:

I’ll have you know that everyone I voted for on Amercian Idol has won!

It’s not about what you do or do not know. In fact most non voters do know more about politics. It’s about becoming part of the process and making your vote count. The vote that thousands have died for to give you.

Write in anyone you want, hell, write me in! But just do it.

But if you don’t vote you can’t complain because you ultimately did nothing to change what you think is broken.
