Checks And Balances Are Just Checks Today

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

This election has been very frustrating for me as a branding?guy. Obama has been brilliant in tying the fear of George Bush into McCain and he will win the election because of it. The average Joe just couldn’t see beyond the branding.

So as a Republican I get to watch the Democrat led?House and Senate combine with the President to run the country. Checks and balances will be just checks now. There will be no balance. That scares me, a lot.

I’m happy to see that as a country race no longer has a place in our society. As we witness the first African American become President I feel great as an American. I’m very happy for this as we move forward. Racism will never disappear but this is certainly a huge step in the right direction.

So as we move forward with Democrats leading the House, Senate and Presidency you have to?ponder something. Democrats will ultimately be SOLEY?responsible for the next 4 years.

Be careful what you wish for.

Now it’s time to unite America and move forward. We need to all come together and support our new leaders. Hopefully they will lead us to a better place.

Meet The BIG Kahuna

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

We recently made a video with one of our clients, Humboldt Storage and Moving, part of United Van Lines. We wanted to do a case study with a bit of our own personality and to showcase the kinds of partnerships we have with our clients. Check it out and let me know what you think.

BIG thanks to the entire Humboldt team for playing along and being such great sports! Try getting one of your clients to meditate for a video…

Saturday, November 1st, 2008

AC/DC’s marketing is done by a firm called Kleber (http://kleber.net/)?and they are killing it, and I mean it’s outstanding. The new Excel -?YouTube video is freakin outrages…

You can also click here and watch it for real in Excel: http://www.acdcrocks.com/excel/

They’re holding YouTube contests, http://acdc.com/giveitallyougot/, they have new forums: http://forum.acdc.com/, http://forums.sonybmgmusic.com/ACDC/, sign up for their newsletter: https://signup.acdc.com/?module=Newsletter:

They spit in the face of iTunes and signed an exclusive deal with Walmart. Guess what? #1 in 29 countries. Not bad for a bunch of 55 year olds huh? Everyone criticized them and now they are laughing all the way to the bank. It can be done.

They’re still in the top 5 of all time for single album sales with Back and Black (over 22 million sold), and world wide sales of over 200 million.

Video game? Check.

It’s nice to see a classic band like AC/DC breaking the iTunes mold. Maybe other musicians will take notice. I’ll be seeing them from the 3rd row on November 9th at the Boston Garden. The BIG Kahuna is not worthy!
