Burger King Targets Sluts Across America
In an effort to keep making horrible ads that have nothing to do with whatever Burger King’s brand identity is they’ve come out with this pile of crap:

Let’s not forget their past insulting work here, Mexican get sizzled, and here, Slap that booty.
Obviously the only branding strategy Burger King can come up with is to be controversial. Brilliant.
So I’m out of the Burger King loop. They obviously want people in the business to write negatively about them because what women is gonna run out and buy this sandwich now? And do men really think they’ll get a blow job? No, the only thing Burger King wants is press, so stop giving it to them, they don’t deserve it.
Ads are meant to do one thing…sell product, period.

Amazing, and sophomoric.

It would be responsible to point out here that this is not an ad running in the U.S. It is, according to BK corporate, “running to support a limited promotion in the Singapore market and is not running in the U.S. or any other markets.” Even a cursory glance at the piece told me it wasn’t something for the U.S. markets. “It’ll blow your mind away” is the ultimate in Engrish mixed metaphors, and “It just tastes better” is not BK’s brand tagline for the U.S. market. It’s still tasteless, yes; just not tasteless here in the States.

One catch, these ads don’t run in America and have nothing to do with the American Burger King brand strategy. They’re from Singapore, done by a local agency there.

I use this picture in a print for the school. I found it in shutterstock…

Actually, this ad doesn’t target sluts across America, it targets sluts in Singapore.

Erm…sorry to be rude..but….ahem….aren’t you giving them press?!

Yes, I gave them press for the last time, as I mentioned.

Sorry the English threw me off, does that make the ad any better?

Even if the ad doesn’t run in America we’re in a new social network era. It’s certainly in America now. BK’s track record is documented. I wouldn’t be surprised if they leaked this to the US market for the PR.

They should have replaced the women with a character from HBO’s OZ to cross promote their DVD box set.

I feel as though I have to say something as I work for BK. We will win. We will put all other fast food locations under. We will own a large portion of America through corprate espionage. And we will find a way to use our advertising to make women unsarimoniously drop to thier knees and distribute oral pleasure when ever they see a man eating a warm, delicious, flame broiled Burger King sandwich. So, will you join us? Or will you cling to your dried out, flavorless BK alternatives? The choice is yours.
P.S. At BK, you’re the king!
P.P.S. Smile, it’s a King thing!
